Leadership Team
Avinash has over 25 years of experience building and launching fintech products used by hundreds of millions of users globally. Prior to Cybrid, Avinash founded Ario, an embedded SMB lending platform that developed novel AI based underwriting solutions to quickly offer loans and extend hundreds of millions of dollars of credit to SMB customers.
Avinash was a senior leader at Interac where he built the Interac Token Platform and launched Apple Pay into the Canadian market and managed the growth of E-transfer a P2P payments service to over 100B in payment volume. He also led the identity and payments service globally at Blackberry, used by over 130M users.

With a Ph.D. in secure communications and a Master’s in biometrics and cryptography, Brent is responsible for leading our technology team. With over 20 years of experience designing, building and deploying secure distributed applications - he's the perfect person for the job.
At Thinking Capital, Brent embedded a SMB lending platform that developed novel AI based underwriting solutions to quickly offer loans and extend hundreds of millions of dollars of credit to SMB customers. He was responsible for the initial conception, design and deployment of Cash Flow Advisor (now Driven Insights).
Prior to Thinking Capital, Brent was the Head of Security at Ario, an online digital platform for SMBs that offered innovative financing to small businesses. His responsibilities included conception, design and implementation of Ario's know-your-customer (KYC) program.
At Thinking Capital, Brent embedded a SMB lending platform that developed novel AI based underwriting solutions to quickly offer loans and extend hundreds of millions of dollars of credit to SMB customers. He was responsible for the initial conception, design and deployment of Cash Flow Advisor (now Driven Insights).

Dean is the President & COO of Cybrid. Prior to Cybrid, he was the Co-founder and President of GoHenry, a B2C fintech subscription business that pioneered the youth banking and financial education space, becoming a global leader in the category and scaling to millions of members. GoHenry was acquired by Acorns in 2023.
Ali heads up our Sales & Partnerships. He is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in SaaS, and the cryptocurrency space.
Prior to his current role at Cybrid, He's led Sequoia funded North American SaaS teams as well as being the Vice President of Global Sales at Coinsquare, Canada's first cryptocurrency exchange backed by institutional investors. Ali launched the OTC desk, and led global licensing sales.
Ali joined the founding team as his experience aligned with the vision that Avinash and Brent had for building our platform, which is providing the easiest way for companies to operate with digital currencies in a compliant manner.

Zuzanna Wasyliw is a CPA with over a decade of experience in financial leadership, assurance, and advisory roles across high-growth private and publicly listed companies. She began her career at KPMG, where she articled and provided assurance and financial accounting advisory services to both Canadian and U.S. public companies.
Zuzanna played a key role in scaling Thinkific Labs Inc., where she built and led the finance, accounting, and treasury functions from startup through to IPO. She later served as VP Finance at 7shifts, a fast-growing scale-up, overseeing FP&A, finance strategy, accounting, treasury, and tax. In addition to her operational finance roles, she also completed a secondment with VC firm Rhino Ventures, gaining valuable perspective from the investor side.
Zuzanna is passionate about building high-impact finance teams and guiding companies through rapid growth, strategic planning, and capital markets readiness.

Michael Carrara is an experienced engineer and founder at Cybrid, where he brings a wealth of technical expertise to the table.
During his time at BRD, he served as a Principal Engineer, leading the technical direction of Blockset, a blockchain-as-a-service data platform. Michael's ability to design technical solutions that accounted for the scale and complexities of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum was key to the success of Blockset.
At Cybrid, Michael continues to leverage his technical expertise and experience to develop innovative products and services in the cryptocurrency space. His ability to design and develop cryptocurrency ETL pipelines, transaction notification services, and user authentication and management services has been instrumental in driving Cybrid's technological success.

Henry is the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) at Cybrid. He plays a mission-critical role in shaping and safeguarding the company’s regulatory foundations as we build secure, compliant, and innovative financial infrastructure. With over 20 years of experience in the financial industry and 15 years specializing in compliance, Henry brings deep expertise in risk management, regulatory compliance, financial crime compliance, and financial services to his role as CCO.
Before joining Cybrid, Henry served as Head of Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crime Compliance with HSBC out of their Hong Kong office. He later moved on to Tencent where he served in various compliance roles around the globe, including Chief Compliance Officer of WeChat Pay in the USA, Compliance Officer of WeChat Pay Hong Kong and Malaysia, as well as Head of Sanctions and AML for all of Tencent offshore lines of business. Most recently, Henry was Head of AML Risk and Controls with TD Bank in Toronto.

Connie brings deep expertise in financial services, including cards, risk, pricing, and automated lending to help fintechs launch modern embedded finance products.
Prior to Cybrid, Connie was a senior leader in TD Bank’s credit card business, where she led credit card strategy, including risk-based pricing and cash advance programs representing over $4B in annual volume. She then served as Head of Product at Ario, an embedded SMB lending-as-a-service platform.
